Get feedback, measure engagement, and make decisions faster with Polls!
Whether you are trying to find the best time to meet, capturing engagement, or deciding which bear is best (False! Black Bear), sometimes you simply need a poll to get a lot of opinions/thoughts very quickly.
At Pronto, we always aim to make things efficient, easy to use, and our new Polls are no different. Polls can be set up via your mobile or desktop app in seconds, while having enough options to provide powerful insights.
β
Creating a Poll
To begin the Poll creation process, there is a new navigation item found in the chat compose bar that resembles a + sign. This is where you will go to compose a message, as well as a few other options that have typically been found in this space.
This is located on the lower right corner for web and desktop users, while it is in the lower left on our mobile apps. A few additional options are available in our mobile apps for leveraging built in capabilities on your phone.
While creating a Poll, you will be presented a space for your question, and up to 10 choices to Poll. Beyond that, you will have options for duration, quantity of votes, placement, voter anonymity, and revealing the results of the Poll.
Creating a poll automatically sends a push notification to all chat participants, unless they have toggled off the setting for Poll notifications.
Poll Settings
Poll settings include the duration of the Poll from 1hr to a custom end date, whether or not a person can vote more than once, and the ability to pin the Poll at the top of the chat.
Voter Identity
The Identity function dictates who can see how each vote was cast; either revealing the voters name to all group members, group owners, or keeping all results anonymous.
Results Timing
Sometimes it doesn't matter if everyone knows how their peers have voted, and sometimes, you really need to avoid group think. To help with this, we have instituted a variety of options for how the results of the Poll will be revealed. As the stakes get higher, you may choose to conceal the results so as not to influence how your team is voting.
Concluding a Poll
A Poll concludes once the timer has expired, or can be concluded manually by pressing/hovering over the Poll. Concluded Polls will remain in the message stream, but can also be found in a new tab within your group settings, along with photos, files, meetings and more. If you are allowing a Poll to close based on the timer, notifications will be sent out to the group to remind them to vote, as well as the results of the Poll upon conclusion.
This information includes who posted the poll and when, along with how many votes were received. As is the case with other items in the group settings, there is an option to "View in Chat" that will go directly to where that Poll resides in the chat stream.
