Recents Category

The recents category contains chats that need attention, usually because there are new or unread messages, but also for other reasons, such as if there is an active meeting being held.

What determines if a particular chat should show up in the Recents category?

To determine if a particular chat should be in the Recents category, follow this flow chart.

Recents Sorting

Items in Recents are sorted into three levels:

  1. Mentions and "marked as unread" will show at the top

  2. Chats with other unreads are next

  3. Those that have no unreads, but have had messages sent recently, will show up at the bottom of the Recents list, if there are not 10 or more groups with unread messages

Badge Counts

In Pronto, we have several different badge types:

  • Tasks Badge - Shown under the Tasks header in the drawer

  • Announcements Badge - Shown under the Announcements header in the drawer

  • Chat Badge - Shown next to a chat in the drawer

  • In-App Summation Badge - Shown next to the back button within the app

  • External Summation Badge - Shown on the app icon and in other external contexts

Each badge type is shown below with a brief description as to why it is there.

Tasks Badge

Indicates how many tasks are due today.

Announcements Badge

Indicates how many unread announcements there are

Chat Badge

These are the badges shown in the drawer in the Recents category. There are three different styles:

Emphasized Dot:

A badge with an attention-grabbing red background containing a dot. Used for the case where the chat has been marked unread, but there are no actual unreads in it.

Emphasized Count:

A badge with with an attention-grabbing red background containing a count, indicating the user was specifically mentioned in a message using the "@" symbol.

Deemphasized Count:

A badge with subtle gray background treatment containing a count, indicating there are unread messages in the chat.

Category Summation Badge

This is the badge that shows up when certain categories are collapsed. This is only shown for categories that show unread counts (currently Pinned and Recents) and only when they are collapsed.

It may show the LIVE indicator when a live meeting is being held.

In-App Summation Badge

This is the badge that appears next to the back button within the app.

External Summation Badge

This is the badge count shown outside of the app, such as on the app icon or on top of the navigation icon in Canvas.
