Grant access to microphone, camera, and screen recording for Livestreaming etc.

***Due to ever-updating browsers with new security protocols, you may have to complete the following steps periodically to refresh the settings***
​
1. On your Mac, choose System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click Privacy.

2. Select Screen Recording.

3. Remove the permission from your browser

4. Save

5. Then add Screen Recording permission for your browser of choice.

6. Quit and start the browser again

On a PC

You can grant access to your camera and microphone for specific sites.

Google Chrome Browser

  • Step 1. Click the Site Information option.

  • Step 2. Click Site Settings option.

  • Step 3. Set the Camera drop-down option to Allow.

  • Step 4. Set the Microphone drop-down option to Allow.

  • Step 5. Close the browser tab or switch back to the Pronto tab.

  • Step 6. If necessary, you might need to apply the changes and reload the page.

Reload the page.

Microsoft Edge

  • Step 1. Click the Site Information option.

  • Step 2. Click Site Permissions option.

  • Step 3. Set the Camera drop-down option to Allow.

  • Step 4. Set the Microphone drop-down option to Allow.

  • Step 5. Close the browser tab or switch back to the Pronto tab.

  • Step 6. If necessary, you might need to refresh the page.

Mozilla Firefox

  • Step 1. Click the Site Information option.

  • Step 2. Click Show Connection Details option.

  • Step 3. Click the More Information option.

  • Step 4. Switch to the Permissions tab, and scroll down to the Use the Camera and Microphone options.

  • Step 5. Remove the checkboxes for the Camera and Microphone options. This will unlock the next option.

  • Step 6. Set the Camera option to Allow.

  • Step 7. Set the Microphone option to Allow.

  • Step 5. Close the Page Info panel.

  • Step 6. If necessary, you can double-check to see if the permissions are enabled by clicking on the Site Information option. The Camera and Microphone will now be allowed.

On a Mac

You must grant access to the web app in order to use the microphone or camera on your Mac to capture or record audio and video. If you also want to record your screen, you will also need to grant access to Screen Recording.

To grant access for each feature:

  • Step 1. From the Apple menu, go to System Preferences.

  • Step 2. Click Security & Privacy.

  • Step 4. If necessary, click the Lock icon to make changes.

  • Step 5. Click Screen Recording from the left pane, and select the web app that you want to grant access to. (Chrome, Safari, FireFox, etc.)

  • Step 6. To grant access to the Microphone, click Microphone from the left pane, and select the web app that you want to grant access to. (Chrome, Safari, FireFox, etc.)

  • Step 7. To grant access to the Camera, click Camera from the left pane, and select the web app that you want to grant access to. (Chrome, Safari, FireFox, etc.)
