Generating a Group Code

If you want to give people the option to join a group you can generate a group join code that will allow them to join the group whenever they want.

By default, the code is set to never expire, but you can set the Expiration Date which would allow the code to only work during that timeframe. See the Expire Group Code topic for more information.

A user can take the copied code and enter it using the Enter Group Code popup from the Actions option located on the Drawer panel.

Expire a Group Code

Codes with an expiration date will automatically expire or you can manually expire a code that will block the code from being used.

You can choose to expire a code at any time. Once the expiration date has been set (including not setting one) you will not be able to change it. You would need to expire that code and create a new one with a specific expiration date. A code cannot be reissued once it has expired.

A person with an expired code will not be able to add the group to their category list. They will either need to be added manually or will require a new code.

Expired codes will remain on the list so the code combination will not be used again.

Expire a code using the web app:

  • Step 1. Make sure you’re in the Group Codes screen of the Group Settings area.

  • Step 2. Click the Expire option to automatically block the code from being used. (it will automatically expire the code as soon as you click the option.)
