Introduction
Prior to getting started in your Brightspace environment, you must have a Pronto organization, with Integrations enabled. If you do not yet have an environment, or you are lacking the Integrations segment of Manage Organization, please reach out to help@pronto.io.
To access the Integrations panel, Click on the settings icon next to your name, and select Manage Organization. You should have a tile for Integrations. Once opened, click on the "Available" tab to see the list of available integrations.
Choose the LTI 1.3 Integration, and select "Connect"
Choose "Brightspace" as the platform and click the "Create Connection" button.
Keep this tab open — you will need it again soon.
Open your Brightspace admin portal in a separate tab and follow the steps below:
Step 1 - Dynamic Registration and Tool Configuration
Log in to Brightspace as the LMS admin
Click the
Admin Toolsgear and selectManage Extensibility

Register Tool
Select
DynamicIn the
Tool initiation registration endpointfield, enter the “Dynamic Registration URL” shown on your Pronto tab:

You may need to allow pop-ups in your browser:
The dynamic registration is now complete. You can take note of the client_id, although you won’t need it for any further steps in Brightspace. Make sure to click “Continue” instead of closing the tab to ensure the configuration completes properly in Brightspace.

Click the toggle to enable the tool, then click

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click
View Deployments
Click the
Pronto LTI 1.3deployment
Scroll down the page and enable the checkbox for
Classlist including users not known to this deployment
Scroll down further and click
Add Org Units
Select the org units you want to enable this tool for, or select all (not recommended in production environments), then click
Add
Click
Save and Close
Step 2 - Create Custom Links
Click the
Admin Toolsgear icon, and clickNavigation & Themes
Click
Custom Links
Click
Create Link
Enter
Prontoin theNamefield, then clickInsert Quicklink
In the popup dialog, click
External Learning Tools

Verify that a URL was automatically entered into the
URLfield, then clickSave
The
Prontocustom link should now appear in the list of custom links.
Select a course to add the Pronto LTI tool to.
Hover near the right edge of the menu until the three-dot menu appears, then click
Edit the Shared Navbar
Click
Add Links
Click
Custom Links, check the box forPronto, then clickAdd
Reorder the Pronto menu item as desired, then click
Save and Close
Step 3 - Launch the Tool and Connect the Integration

Prontoto launch the tool
Enter the integration key displayed on your “Pronto” tab.
Use the “Platform Integration Key”
The integration will connect to your organization and begin syncing the course and enrolled users. Wait a minute, then click the
Retrybutton.
If you are still logged in as an admin user, or any user who isn’t enrolled in the course, you will continue to see the “Preparing Chat” message. Log in as a teacher or student who is enrolled in the course, then visit the course and click the
Prontobutton to launch Pronto.
Once a user who is enrolled in the course clicks the
Prontolink, the Pronto web app will open in a new browser tab and automatically log the user in.
On your Pronto tab, go back to the initial “Integrations” page and click your new integration:
Depending on the size of your course and how quickly you open this page, the sync status of your course resources may vary.
To manually force a re-sync of a specific course or resource, click the resource, then click the “Sync Now” button in the top right.
